HOW TO LOAD A TUNE FILE TO YOUR SCT DEVICE
After you give the tuner all your information they will email you a .CEF tune file. This file must be loaded onto your SCT device before it can be uploaded to your vehicle. Follow these steps to load your tune file:
1. Download and save the .CEF tune file from your email correspondence with your calibrator.
2. Connect the SCT device to your computer using the provided USB cable. (*Note: Other cables may be used, but they must be data cables capable of transferring files—not just for charging.*)
3. Open the SCT Device Updater Program.
4. Select "Load Custom Tune File" from the Device Updater Program menu.
5. Click "Browse" in the top right corner of the program.
6. Navigate to the location where you saved the .CEF tune file and click "Open."
Once the file name appears under the "Available Tunes" list:
7. Click the ">> Add to Device" button.
8. The file name will now appear under the "On Device" list.
9. Click "Program" to begin loading the file to your device.
Once complete, you can now load the tune file to your vehicle.

LIVELINK - STEP-BY-STEP DATALOGGING INSTRUCTIONS THROUGH A LAPTOP
**What You Will Need:**
- Windows laptop
- SCT Livelink GENII Datalogging Software: [Download Livelink here](#)
- SCT Device Updater Software: [Download Device Updater here](#)
Step 1: Download the SCT datalogging software and the configuration (.cf4) file.
Step 2: Connecting the SCT device cables
- Open the Livelink datalogging software.
- Plug the Micro USB cable into both the laptop and the SCT device.
- Connect the OBD2 cable to the OBD2 port and the top of the SCT device.
Step 3: Checking device communications
- Start the vehicle's engine, and click the "Comm" button located in the Settings menu at the top of the screen.
- On the Communications screen, click the "Check Communication" button.
- *If the device and vehicle do not communicate, disconnect and reconnect all cables. Ensure you are using the USB cable that came with the SCT device.*
Step 4: Loading the configuration (.cf4) file
- Once communication is established, click "Load Config" in the Chart Gauges menu.
- Use the appropriate configuration file: "Coyote Auto Car" for automatics or "Coyote Stick Car" for manual transmissions.
Step 5: Starting the datalog recording
- Wait until the vehicle reaches operating temperature, then click the button shaped like an SCT device with a green circle located in the top left of the screen.
Step 6: Recording the requested datalogs
- Your calibrator may request specific datalogs based on conditions to monitor.
*Examples of Datalogs Requested:*
- Idle / Slow Rev Datalog: Allow the vehicle to reach operating temperature. Start the datalog while idling for 30 seconds, then slowly rev the vehicle to 3000 RPM, maintaining steady pedal input before returning to idle.
- WOT Datalog: *Perform this only if advised.* This should capture a Wide Open Throttle (WOT) pull in a gear that won't break traction. Your tuner will provide specific RPM ranges for this
Step 7: Stop the recording by hitting the red sqaure located next to the start datalog button.
Save the datalog by selecting save datalog button in the toolbar and ensure it is saved as a .CSV file.
Step 8: Once saved please send the datalog file as a reply in your ticket to your tuner for review.
